Event - Big Sleuth Project

19 May 2017

During April/May 2017 St Joseph’s has been fortunate enough to take part in The Big Sleuth project which a number of schools round Nechells have also take part in.

When our bear arrived it was impossible to imagine how our blank bear would turn out. Back in April we had an assembly for the whole school where our blank bear was revealed. Every child was invited to complete a design of our bear, and the designs needed to reflect our school. Choosing a design was very, very difficult! We had a range of designs and we narrowed the designs down to two from each year group.

These 14 designs then helped to form our final design of Joe the Prayer Bear.

Over a two week period our bear was beautifully drawn, painted and varnished by Mrs Farnan and then on our final day at school before the May half term we had a special celebration day.

The whole school has been very excited about our bear and I’m sure lots of our children will be heading to One Stop in Perry Barr over the summer to find him!
